Hello, and welcome. I'm Kasey, the founder of SARTORÉE.

I started SARTORÉE because I couldn't find the wardrobe I wanted for myself.

After years of working in corporate environments, getting dressed was a surprisingly big part of my everyday life. There were meetings, presentations, travel, weekends, dinners and everything in between. I had plenty of clothes, but I kept reaching for the same few pieces.

I wanted clothes that felt polished but were easy to live in. Pieces that worked with the rest of my wardrobe, could be dressed up or down, and still felt relevant when the season changed. Most of all, I wanted getting dressed to feel effortless.

I also became increasingly conscious of how I was shopping. I would buy something because I liked it, wear it a handful of times, and then find myself going back to the pieces I already knew worked. My wardrobe was getting bigger, but it wasn't necessarily getting better.

And when I did find something I really loved, there was often another problem: the price. I was happy to invest in good clothing. What I struggled with was the enormous jump in price that often came with high-end fashion. I couldn't understand why beautiful fabrics, good construction and thoughtful design had to automatically mean an extraordinary price tag.

I wanted the quality to be there without paying simply for the label. That was the gap I wanted to explore.

What I Was Looking For

The pieces I wore most weren't necessarily the newest ones in my wardrobe. They were the ones that worked. A coat I could wear to work with tailoring and then throw over jeans at the weekend. A shirt that worked with trousers, denim or layered under knitwear. A dress that could feel completely different depending on the shoes and accessories.

Those were the pieces I was willing to invest in because I knew I would actually wear them.

Over time, I started thinking about what an investment wardrobe could look like. Not an expensive wardrobe for the sake of it, and not about owning as little as possible. Simply a wardrobe where the pieces earn their place. Where you take a little more time to consider the fabric, the cut, the fit and how often you'll realistically wear something before you buy it.

That idea became the starting point for SARTORÉE.

The Art of the Investment Wardrobe

For me, an investment wardrobe is built gradually. It's about finding pieces that work with what you already own rather than constantly replacing your wardrobe.

It's also why I don't think a seasonless wardrobe means wearing exactly the same clothes all year. It means choosing pieces that can adapt as the weather, occasion and rest of your wardrobe change. A coat can be layered over tailoring in winter and thrown over a dress between seasons. A shirt can be worn on its own in warmer weather or under knitwear when it cools down. A dress can move from day to evening with a change of shoes.

Most of us have more than one version of our lives. Our clothes need to move with us. And when the right pieces work together, getting dressed becomes much easier.

That's what I want SARTORÉE to help create.

How We Make Our Clothes

That same thinking shapes how we make the clothes themselves. We spend a lot of time choosing fabrics and considering how a garment will feel, fit and wear — not just how it looks when it's photographed.

We look for exceptional natural fibres and fabrics for their quality, character and comfort, and where possible, choose traceable, certified and responsibly sourced materials.

We also produce in considered quantities rather than continually adding new styles simply to keep pace with the fashion calendar. It means we may not always have endless stock, but I'd rather make something properly and have it genuinely wanted than produce more for the sake of having more.

The name SARTORÉE was inspired by sartor, the latin word for tailor, and by the French name Désirée, meaning "desired". I loved the connection to tailoring and the idea of making, while Désirée captured something equally important to me  — the idea of creating something you genuinely want and have been looking for. Together, those influences helped shape the name, and the feeling I wanted the brand to have: refined, feminine and understated, with a real appreciation for craftsmanship.

SARTORÉE is designed in Melbourne, with an Australian relaxed sensibility and an appreciation for understated French style. The result is clothing that is polished without being precious, feminine without being overly delicate, and easy enough to become part of real life.

Why SARTORÉE Exists

I didn't start SARTORÉE because I thought the world needed another fashion brand. There are already plenty. I started it because I couldn't find what I was looking for.

I wanted beautiful clothes that I could live in. I wanted quality that felt worthwhile without the price becoming excessive. I wanted pieces that could work beyond a single season and become more useful as my wardrobe evolved. And I wanted to feel good getting dressed without having to think too hard about it.

That is still what we're building.

SARTORÉE will continue to evolve as I learn more about design, fabrics, manufacturing and the realities of building a fashion business. There are plenty of parts of that journey I want to share too — including the things that don't always make it onto a beautiful product page.

But the reason I started hasn't really changed. I wanted to create beautiful, well-made pieces that you reach for again and again.

That's The Art of the Investment Wardrobe. And that's SARTORÉE.
